Tomboy Debug – add-ins on MS Windows 7
December 17, 2011
Recently we have been having issues with Tomboy and add-ins not loading when running Tomboy on Windows 7.
I’ve dug into this some and believe I have a fix. I am providing a ZIP for you to test with if you like.
Installation Steps:
- Extract the ZIP to a directory of your choice. (a folder debug-2011-12-16 will be created)
- open the folder debug-2011-12-16
- launch Tomboy.exe
You should now have all the add-ins.

Doesn’t work for me – exact same prob as with the ‘official’ build. “Not configurable”
Try this build please. http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/binaries/win32/tomboy/1.9/Tomboy-1.9.7.msi
This build (1.9.7) shows the sync services “Local Folder” and “Tomboy Web” but when I select “Tomboy Web”, the Server textbox is empty. When I enter “https://one.ubuntu.com/notes” and press “Connect to Server” I get the message “Server is not respondig. Try again later.”
Finally I figured out what the problem is. You have to define a firewall exception for tomboy.exe.
I have followed the above with no luck – still no sync. After uninstalling and then installing 1.9.7, the version in Help/bout reads 1.8.3? Any help gratefully received
